Right, welcome to our new annual get together. From here on in we do this event and whatever creative ones like Arschott we can come up with in future, but this will be our defacto BIG show from now on. The event coincides with the VBOA nationals and is held at Billing on the 10,11,12th July 2009 this year. This is a show for members who truly love their cav and is a reunion for all remaining mk2's in the club. All cars should be clean, presentable - and cleaned to a good standard once they arrive on stand. By attending you agree to pitch in to help make thiings easier. For example, take the initiative if you see someone moving onto the stand, or helping us put the …

Billing July 2010 UPDATE 2nd JULY The following RED changes (mainly new booking deadline) have been made due to a VBOA update. You only need a VBOA 2010 sticker if you want to put it on your windscreen as a 'Trophy' or perhaps to show you qualify to pay the reduced VBOA overnight rate on the gate (this latter is new, see below). If you are pre-booking, a VBOA sticker will be with the ticket you pick up on the gate. If you want a sticker before you go to Billing you HAVE to PM me your address so I can post it to you. Otherwise there will be a limited quantity available to pick up fron the committee there. We are on the same pitch as last year. Overnight stays have to …

The VBOA Meeting at Billing is the biggest Vauxhall, Bedford and Opel show in the UK and this year is its 30th Anniversary. As before there will be a huge selection of clubs with all kinds of Vauxhalls from old to new. The site is just off the A45 and its address is Billing Aquadrome, Crow Lane, Great Billing, Northampton, NN3 9DA. Whilst the show dates are Saturday July 14th and Sunday July 15th 2012 we have members who turn up from Thursday and leave on Monday. As in previous years, Members who show a car on our stand will receive a 'Billing 2012' windscreen sticker. The cost is the same as last year, with a pre-booked VBOA rally rate, which applies to the Friday ni…

OK folks this has been in the planning in the members section for a short while now and seeing as its an informal event everyone is welcome. Its happening on March 7th here http://www.premierinn.com/pti/hotelInformation.do?hotelId=23866 There is a few of us staying over in the hotel and heading to the VBOA spares day on the 8th but it doesn't matter if you book and stay for the weekend or if you just drop in on Saturday for an hour. These things are always a good laugh and its a good opportunity to put some faces to names and have a look at a few cavs.

As per subject. Will hopefully get some text on there this week to flesh things out a little. Enjoy, and remember we had some good weather (unlike Billing!) Click on Events 2008 on the menu to the left titled site content and then click on the title of the show. People really need to get used to this rather than being lazy and requesting a direct link. However I know for a very unfortunate few of you your menus are still broken (you cannot expand them with the + / - symbols after the forums top menu. So here is a link for you guys: Events 2008 category or alternatively - To the Article itself Cheers, Andy

[img width=740 height=179]http://www.mk2cav.com/body/main/events/2008events/Rolling08_1024/Rolling08_147.jpg I've been speaking with Tim and we were both thinking it's about time for our bi-annual rolling road meet. SO: I am unsure when it will be as yet, but I do know that it will probably be at Jamsport, or Northampton motorsport - but both are in relitavely close proximity to each other. So put your name down if you are 80% likely to be able to make a session this year potentially after Billing to keep things interesting event wise. Non-members will need to be members at the time of the run to get the discount (think of it as free membership!) but there is nothing w…

Retro Rides Gathering 2011 Sunday 21st August Prescott Hillclimb Gloucestershire GL52 9RD yes the venue as change this year but I am sure it will be just as fantastic, this is a great show with a very relaxed feeling everywhere which am sure the people who attend last year would agree. I know it's early to post this up but I had an email just before Christmas saying do we need a stand again this year which I said yes too thinking it would go away ....... but now they are asking for rough number's prices tbc and camping at venue at added cost (normally very basic but still worth it) so there is nothing like planning ahead who's up for this ?

VBOA have confirmed that Billing next year has been booked for the weekend of the 12/13/14 July as forecast. I would think that the only thing that would move it would be if the F1 British Grand Prix moves from its announced date of the end of June. More info after the next VBOA meeting in February.

Billing next year was scheduled for the weekend of the 10th July. In their wisdom the FIA have set the British GP to be that weekend. So, to avoid the clash, the VBOA has moved to the following weekend, the 15/16/17 July. The VBOA apologises to anyone who is already booked but feels that it has to move, based on past experience of rocketing hotel prices and chaos on the roads. ONLY THE VOTES OF CLUB MEMBERS WILL BE COUNTED OPTION 1 Billing run administration This is administratively similar to the 'old' way of running things. Booking through Billing with pricing much as before. Gate control and security by Billing. However that is where the similarity stops as operationally it is quite different in that there will be a vehicle only 'show' area, effectively the central block of the site with Mk2Cav old area top right. This will be divided up as now by VBOA into club areas where our cars will be during the day. This is about 21 acres. Camping will be in the surrounding blocks which have been divided up by Billing into p…
