  1. That is beautiful, i wondered where this car had gone. I definately would keep that 100% original. Ive been looking at the blue (16000 miler) on ebay for ages - those early low mileage, original Cavs are so nice. Well done.
  2. Thanks, just wanted a rough idea of what you wanted for the old girl. I have been after a saloon - but im in Swansea so not sure when i could make it for a viewing (kids, work etc!). Personally, a grand would be a bit steep for me - but its worth whatever someones willing to pay- so you never know. Thanks for getting back to me. Anthony.
  3. Hi Danny, nice looking car there, what sort of figure are you looking for? Anthony.

Could'nt agree more with you Dawn - nice to keep it as Vauxhall intended (and how it would have looked parked up in a street in 1983!). To be honest, i wont be using it as an everyday car - just now and then. The only future issues (surprise) will be slight bodywork attention as there are a few blisters etc. Hopefully i will be able to find an understanding garage aswell. I can imagine how excited you are, i'll be keeping an interested eye on your progress (in 10 years time we might have the only 2 standard cars left!)

Hi Dawn, thanks. To be honest, modifying isnt my cup of tea. This old Cav will be kept COMPLETELY standard. Its the early clean look that i like - things like skinny tyres, no power steering, four gears etc are so retro. I love your machine and have read all your posts - well done for your dedication, im looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

Yeah, it was apparently garaged most of the time, the interior is like it left the factory yesterday. It was also serviced twice a year by Vauxhall ! The old gent (who sadly passed away) must have loved it. Thats why i feel a responsibility to really look after it etc.

Thanks buddy, its great to finally own one after all these years (we had two 1.6L saloons in the 80s when i was just a boy). Its survived incredibly well (mint interior). Nice to see all the enthusiasm about these cars on this site - i cant believe how mk2 cavaliers (and pretty much all everyday cars from the 80s) have virtually vanished. cket.com/albums/ae162/CavalierL/New%20Cav/DSCN2708.jpg

Heres my recently acquired 1983 Cavalier 1.6L, 45,000 genuine miles, completely original and standard, 1 owner from April'83 to last year. Ive been after one for ages (for nostalgic reasons) - although i was after a saloon. Great website/club, i'll join properly, soon. All the best, Anthony. avalierL/New%20Cav/DSCN2703.jpg[img width=640 height=480]http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/ae162/CavalierL/New%20Cav/DSCN2702.jpg
