  1. Yep have tried several different makes and grade of oil all to no avail. I have had the selector shaft all apart and cleaned and lubed it and the nylon bushes and all the gearstick mechanism which all leads me to conclude that the fault is inside the box which is a bummer. Might purchase an F20 or equivalent and strip my box down.
  2. The gear selection remains stiff whilst the engine isn't running and I have replaced the clutch twice just to be sure. There is no synchro crunch and it is as difficult to get out of gear as it is to get it in. I imagine it has something to do with the car having stood for twenty odd years.
  3. I have hound that as the gearbox warms up it becomes increasingly difficult to get into and out of gear. Just wondering if anybody had a gearbox for sale. Cheers Simon

I used some Lo 40mm springs along with some Avo front shocks and Bilstein rears. I thought maybe 30 mm at the front and 40mm at the rear might sit better. Anyone had similar issues?

  6. My decals arrived from the States this morning and although slightly too large I think they look pretty good. What does anyone reckon?
  7. Thank you to everyone for their positive comments. You've all made me feel welcome. I'm hoping to finish off the interior tomorrow by refitting the remaining door cards with some new clips I bought and also replace the caliper piston seals. Still looking for a fourth astra gsi fanblade as I currently only have three!
  8. Hello mate. I can't take credit for the paintwork sadly but all the stripping down and refitting was undertaken by myself as well as head gasket replacement and cylinder head overhaul. Lots of parts sourcing also for trim etc. only done 80k the old girl and is almost identical to one I owned twenty or so years ago although that one had electric windows and central locking.

  11. Hello mate I'm in crowborouh East Sussex thanks for the welcome. It's the near side vent that's missing and I'm not too worried about the condition it's more having something to fill the hole. I've got some decals coming from the states this week and hopefully they will be ok. How do you put photos on here by the way

Hello I'm the best part of the way through a restoration after getting hold of a 1987 130 hatchback in White that had been sat in a garage for twenty odd years and there are a few parts I am having trouble locating. First off the decals for the doors and secondly the rear quarter lock panel vent. Any help would be much appreciated.
