Hello everyone, im Cole. I am also one hundred percent new to these cars. I have never heard of Vauxhall...... That was— until today. I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a car on the marketplace for sometime now, and today I stumbled upon a car that caught my eye (maybe because I am a Volkswagen lover & former owner of three of them... these cars and some older Volkswagens just have that German-made look to them that I like... or maybe it's just me!): 1987 Vauxhall Cavalier (Expression?) 160000 km Right hand drive ZERO RUST Im going to look at it this weekend. Any advice guys? Thanks for having me. Have a good night!

Hey folks, stumbled across the forum by chance and thought i'd sign up. I've owned a 1988 Mk11 Cavalier hatchback for the last 20+ years. A side project that has forever lived in a garage due to family, kids and my job. Now 2 of said kids are of driving age, the eldest adamant the car is going to him. I work in IT, fix Apple, Samsung and other high end devices for a hobby and in my spare time enjoy a bit of mountain biking, when it comes to car mechanics i'm a tinkerer at heart and not afraid to get my hands dirty but only if I have to. My cav started out life as the watered down version of the SRI, it's younger runt of a brother with a puny 1.6l single …

Hi mates, how are you? I will be brief in my presentation. I'm TIAGO, from Brazil, but living in Portugal. I don't know if I can attend the forum, as it is for the MK2 Cavalier family, and I have a CHEVROLET MONZA CLASSIC SE (version of the GM family in Brazil). 🤣🤣🤣 Yes, this Chevrolet Monza, is here with me in Portugal, and I'm 3 years in the battle to restore it. Here are some photos. Thanks for having me. If you want to follow the project closely, I'm on instagram with @monzcona. I post almost every day, with updates, problems and purchased parts. Thanks, Tiago Vianna,

I have a Cavalier Commander hatch which unfortunately has major rear chassis wear. I have been advised that it is terminal. I am gutted as she has been driving like a dream with 270000 plus miles on the original engine. So I am in the market for another MK2 Hatch preferably 1600s. Is anyone thinking of selling theirs please? I will be at Sywell in July and able to view any prospective car. Please contact Jackie Sanders on 07833562192 if interested. Thanks

Not really been in here much so far! Anyways a few of you will know my car off other groups. We are doing a june 82 ascona sr hatch, 16sh carb car. Been on quite a journey it has really including being off the road since 1994. So on the road 12 years, off it coming up to 27. I've had it 3 years (I think) Stripped it and made the decision to do it right from the bottom up. Many original panels been sourced, no mean feat as a lot of you know, had to have some made from scratch like the inner sills. A lot of thought gone into improvement mods in problem areas to make sure it doesn't do it again - bulkhead, clutch pedal area, a post splits the list goes on. Well it's getting …

Hi, i’m new to the forum so hello. I have a 1985 cavalier hatchback Sri and a 1987 Sri 130 (originally bought to restore the 1985 one!). sadly I have had no time to do these and the cars have been sat in the driveway for a number of years!, just wondering if anyone is interested in buying the pair? Being honest with the cars the 1985 bodywork is bad and don’t think is repairable but might be useful to someone for other parts not sure about the 1987 as it has the bottom side skirts etc. please let me know if anyone is interested in buying the pair. thanks

Hi, I'm Mark, ( another one) ... just joined today. I have a speedo problem. It gave up on me the other day. The car had been off the road for four years and on the way back from the MOT which, thankfully, it passed. the needle gave a little bounce and then stopped working. So I have just fitted a new cable but this hasn't fixed it. Annoying because I was very pleased with myself for fitting it. Anyone got any ideas. My car is an 86. convertible. If anyone has a spare speedo for it and thinks that is what I need I will buy it off them. It has a white needle and is clocked up to 140 mph. Independent of the speedo the fuel gauge also seems to have stopped working. Any…

So, I was here in 2004, and last time I owned a mk2 cavalier was 2008. I stopped coming in 2010, lost my login and changed my email address. So 10 years later what's been happening? Personally. I've since then owned a mk3 Astra, mk4 astra, volve S40, accord 2.2 cdti and currently have a 3.2 MV6 omega as my daily driver, which I'm doing about 20K a year in. I've just fitted a stainless Jetex, due to the old one being like rusty cheese Wife has a mk6 Astra, auto. Bought because she needed an electronic hand brake. It's giffer spec. I recently had a heart attack which was Ironic, given that I'd lost 3 stone over the last year. Now wor…

Hi all New to the forum and to mk2 Cavalier ownership though my dad had one eons ago. Ive got a Brazil Brown B reg saloon, billy basic spec with zero electrics just what I like. 49k miles one owner off the road 20 years. Body wise it needs nothing structurally though could use a passenger door (and a good wash!) and interior wise it’s a total time warp piece down to the original GM mats. My brother and I are in the process of getting it back on the road, 3 hours after getting it back to his workshop it was alive and running well!! Clutch etc seem great, even the brakes were okay. Benefit of being stored in a warm dark garage for all these years. I p…
