Heya guys, only pop in occasionally when I get the mk2 itch. You know the one where nothing you can think of comes close to your old mk2? Well you wouldnt know because all you lucky beggars have mk2s... Anyway on with what I have to say: I had a mk2 Cav SRi 1.8 as my first car. pre-facelift D410 ETC that absolutely flew. Used to kill pretty much anything it came up against, Golf GTi's of the time, XR3i's etc. I loved it but kept crashing it Didnt know about cars back then. A few years later I had an opportunity to buy an almost mint Calibre for £800 or take out a loan for £6k and buy a Celica convertible. Guess which option I didnt take :'( The Calibre was a friend o…

Thought it was about time I said hi to everyone and tell you about me. Live in Swindon and work at RAF Lyneham, I have an E reg 1.8 bog standard Cabby in red that a friend wanted rid of and paid the princely sum of £50. (not sure if that was a good deal or not!! :Ha) Just renewed the fuel pipes and got her started. Runs like a dream, wouldn't believe she was standing for 2 years. She had a new hood a few years ago which cost quite a bit so thats something not to worry about for a while. I have just got PAS from a MK2 CD which is going in and the rear discs from an early Mk3 so these are my first projects (Apart from a bit of welding) Have a few other things i'd like to do…

Hello all. Should have done this intro before but as usual taking the cav out every night after work seems to take priority over everything else. Well as you can probably guess my name is Curt. I live in Somerset and sell cars for a living. I recently bought a Calibre with 2.0 16v lump and too many goodies to list. Must also add that it is probably one of the best car that i have driven when it comes to fun. Anyway will end here before i send you all off to sleep and cheers dougie for telling me about this site. Curt

hi, i'm new to this forum and wondered why there seems to be more original cabbys for sale than sri 130s (even when you consider the low number of cabbys made compared to 130s)

Hi i started coming to this site when i got my cav a year or so ago, but have finally bit the bullet and paid to join! My name's Jon and i have an 88 F reg 1.3 base. It's fairly shoddy with some rust and rips but it's awesome, and should soon start properly on the road back to it's former glory. i've started getting the stuff together for a head clean+de coke, just need the head bolts and new valve springs then i can get going... so my first questioin to you guys is do you have any hints for while i'm doing the job- any Cav perculiarities which might catch me out!? also, how do i start getting my hands on some mk2cav merchandise? cheers guys!

i recently read in an old copy of"motor" (18/4/1987 road test) that a new sri 130 was only£700 more expensive than it's running mate 1.8 sri. surely this would suggest that the 130 was,not only better value but also if you want to drive a rare sri,you should think about the 1.8 or even 2.0 se 87/88models. with vauxhall producing 12000 sri models / year,130s should be quite common. any ideas

Well i'm back in the mix of things as i've just bought a 1988 CDI ;D ;D ;D The question is how much can I exchange from the SRI 130, i've already changed the front suspension. Also how easy is it the change the doors, the ones on me 130 were either new or in excellent condition..... but what else should I consider ? :?

Hi All, I noticed the other day, that my ad caused a bit of interest concerning the Sri130 for sale as advertised in CCM. I have prepared a full description of the car which I intended to upload to this forum. However the icons etc. would appear not to allow this, unless I am being a donut (and can't see it for looking!). If anyone is interested in the details then either: 1. contact me by email: a.j.sweeney@btinternet.com I will send you full details (Word doc with images - file size a shade under 600kb). 2. Tell me how to post it on your website. I have been looking at this website for the last couple of years, however never quite got around to joining. Anyway -…

Hi Guys, new to this board, but just seen a post on MIG about this forum and Calibres, and was wondering if the there is a list of remaining Calibres, just want to see if the one I cut up a few years ago (accident damaged, and used as a donor for a nova conversion) is still on the list as I dont think it was it was officially scrapped. I can remember the reg and know there were only about 10 F reg ones registered, so just wanted to check and see whats still about. Thanks Kev
