Hi folks I've owned a MK2 for 15 years now. I learned to drive in it and never did have the courage- or need to let it go! I have a 1982 1.6GLS auto (hatchback) Up until now I never really thought there would be a club or web site, but as parts are now getting hard to find for the old devil I thought I'd do a search and up this place came! I hope to chat to you all, have fun, and most of all be able to swap stories/info about our robust lil cars See you around the board Dawn

I´ve got 2 Asconas, both 2-door models. They are even the same color(weissgold met.)!! The one i´m driving daily is ´86, originally a 1.6(16SH) but it´s 1.8 now(18E). I got it from a guy i knew from school(back in the days), he came to my work to buy spark plugs for his new car and said that he´s going to take his old Ascona to scrapyard...i bought it for 20€!! I spent my whole summer vacation sandblasting, welding and painting it...but it was worth it . The other Ascona is originally a 1.3(13S) ´83, but i just dropped a 20ne in it a few days ago. I found this car left on the roadside when i was going to a friend...i stopped and went to see it, it had sprayed all the oil …

Finally got a cabby

Hi all, Just purchased a cabby after wanting on for ages. Needs a few little jobs doing but nothing major that I know of. Although I dare say once I start stripping it down it may be a different story. I have been told that it is the one used in the busted video 'What I go to school for' but have no proof of this. Anyonegot an idea of how I could find out 100%? Have watched the video but nothing that would identify my car as the one 100%. Thanks in advance

Hi to all cav peeps! I found this site on a post on astramk2 and I thought I'd drop a line about the cavs from my past. The first was the pea green 1.6GLS I learn to drive in, witht the lovely matching interior, back in '92. Nice. I brought in '96 for the kings ransom of £2k, a 1.6LX with 69k on the clock. Buckets of charm (the seats too), alloys, spoilers, and a rev counter that went all the way round! The tin worm had got to the rear valance and the rear skirt was missing the small section, but other than that the cav was mint, ripe for moding. Though, I hadn't cut my teeth on the net yet and my friends were as useful as a chocolate fire guard when it came to…

howdy folks. New guy here. just came from cavweb. got a whole load of questions that i could use your help answering. Ive just bought a MK2 SRi 130 and the shell is absolutely goosed. The chassis legs are gone, all the arches are rusted to hell but the engine, box and interior is mint. What do you reckon i should do, HELP. Oh by the way it is a red saloon on an E plate with 130,000 on the clock plus its been in a garage for over 3 years.

Just joined the forum, don't have a Mk2 now,but had loads of 'em years ago, started off with an SR hatch, which I painted Pearl Turquoise, and then "tweaked" a little to keep up with SRI's..then on to an early SRi saloon, then a black 130 saloon,then....a brown 1600L hatch...thats what wimmin' do to ya.Worked in a Vauxhall dealer bodyshop back then, when its all we used to work on,so stuff may come back to me after reading all this stuff! Surprised to see a pic of a Commander on here, thought they had all rotted away....after the shells spending months up to their doors in water.... When the bodyshop closed down, you guys would greet at all the "hard to find" stuff that ended up …

Hi to every CAVALIER mk2 fan. My name is andy and I am 43. I have MK2 saloon lx. My dad had it from 3 months old. In 2001 he died, but left the car to me. The car has only 80,000 miles on the clock and has never been welded! the rear arches are immaculate and it is finished in Nordic blue. The MK2 cav has to be the car of the decade, in it's class it murdered the opposion's products in every way. I am joining the club as I have just found it on the internet. I also have a MK1 1980 Cavalier sports hatch, and a 92 MK3 SRi which I have had from new. I have contacted various car mags to see if they want to do an article on the Cavalier from MK1 to the MK3 but none are real…
