Hi guys Newbie looking for some advice on a 1985 mk2 Sri hatch Been offered a B reg 1.8 Sri hatchback in red been with same owner for 30 years but not been used for probably best part of 15 years maybe more, car does have rust to sills and arches from and not sure it's a runner yet. Good points are its been with same owner a long time and has only covered 52k miles also interior is in amazing condition. What should I be looking out for and what would something like this be valued at?

I can't manage to start a new thread in the members project section hopefully a moderator or admin can move this post.... Ok so iv allways been an old school Vauxhall fan a huge fan of the nova's and iv had Astra GTE 16v more recently along with vectra mk3 cavalier and many more, if owned mk2 cavaliers before but iv never bought one specifically as a project car and that' exactly what this is, so to start we drove from Scotland down to Liverpool to collect the car

Hiya everyone..not so new user ..but tbh my profile has been dormant since I sold my cav 12years ago now!!! ...god time flies doesn't it!? Anyway iam back in a cav now ( just not as a daily driver anymore ) and have been for just over a year !!! Some of you might recognise the car as it's been around on here for some time .... trying my best just to keep it tidy and on the road at the minute as I've just purchased my second house .... and that's just rinsing money from me !!!🤣🤣 although the 1.8 is slowly passing on as it seems slower everytime I drive it now and has generated a few oil leaks!! I've recently purchased a Calibra with the favoured xe lump in to convert the C…

Drove to Stoke yesterday to pick up my new toy yesterday. Haven't owned a Mk2 for over 20 years But did have a few - main one was my 1982 silver 1.6SR saloon that I loved to bits. My three boys grew up in this car lol. Alos had a white E plate 2.0CD that was very plush and an F plate 1.6LX (stolen recovered with a big hole in the block - picked u a trade in from local dealer and took the engine from it for the LX and enjoyed her lots). Also had a plethora of Novas (and a few Corsas), Astras (various styles - daily currently is a 2018 Astra K 1.6 diesel - so quiet and brilliant on fuel but I dont see myself ever taking the head off it or ripping out the interior. Looking f…

Hi all, Ive been away from the forum for a few years so firstly I apologise for being a total stranger! Im not great with forums these days and have been busy doing up our house, family life, other excuses etc etc. Ive still got the blue Antibes with redtop and it flew through the MOT today, after being off the road for over a year, so that got me thinking about the club. Bit about the car- Decided not to sell it after all and stuck it in a corner. I converted it back to injection for convenience and I just put stock suspension on as the roads up here are hellish. Its sitting very high though so new springs (again) is my next move. Planning to do so…

Hi all , thanks for accepting me on the site , I own a cavalier commander , which is just about ready for the road again ! My first car was a mk2 cavalier L , which I loved to bits , and this commander came along and I just had to have it ! Any info on anyone else who owns a commander would be very interesting as I believe there numbers have diminished over the years

Hi everyone, So bit of a boring story but I learnt to drive years ago in my Dad’s ancient Sri which we scrapped many years ago, it’s been eating away at me for the last 20 years that it should’ve been rescued rather than driven to the dump. So.... i’ve spent the last year trying to track down a decent example to restore, keep and treasure in homage to my fossilised old Cav. i’m happy to say that I have now found one and would love to become part of this group. Here’s some pics, it’s currently being given a total renovation and mechanical overhaul so more pics to follow. I look forward to meeting some of you soon Cheers Stew

Hi, I'm Jon, originally from the UK but now living here in NZ. Been here a few years and been through a few interesting older cars (and still own quite a few of them!) but the one I thought I'd never have the chance to own over here is this: A 1983 Cavlier SRi, imported into NZ in 1986, so still pretty solid, if you ignore the questionable repair on the driver's door (which I do). It's solid enough but has a few niggling issues I'd like to sort out over time. But it's nothing that stops it being used, which is great. I grew up with the 1983 Cavalier estate my folks owned for over 20 years, so it's really nostalgic! D…

Hi everyone! I am not a newbie as such; I think I have been on the facebook group for the best part of 2 years now and attended the last 2 VBOA shows at Market Harborough however, I have not really used this site much and thought it about time I introduced myself. I am 35 years old, married to Nikki and have 2 tolerable children, Annabelle and Chloe. I am fairly new to Vauxhalls having only really had a Nova saloon before I got the Cavaliers but have been into cars for as long as I remember and attended a fair few shows over the years through the VW scene as I have had Beetles in the past and still have my campervan although it is currently awaiting having its n…

Hello everyone I'm Umar from Leeds West Yorks. Saloon 130's have always had a special place for me as a relative owned a burgundy saloon 130 when I was about 13 from then on that car was my dream, I spent many years dreaming that I'd own one one day...lol By the time I was old enough to drive insure and run a car 130s became extinct. Over the years I've owned many classics e30s vw corrado etc but the 130 dream has still not become true. Sat here at the age of near 40 and the love for the 130 has has still not died as I've become more nostalgic with age. Many times I've searched for saloon 130's but the one we had in the family is the only one I've ever…
