Hi all, looking for a tent spot for Friday night, or confirmation I can kip in the car in the guest car park as will have to go on Saturday lunch and don't want some scruffy octavia leaving the stand in shame Context: I've got a 14 hour flight back to the UK a bit before - so access / prep time is limited for me this year.

  6. So gutted to have missed this year chaps. Can you believe this variant still has me testing positive on day 10 - even though I don't have any symptoms!! Did anyone take any video, if so don't forget the site supports it - and also YouTube videos linked across. I think cost of living and Covid is what kept the numbers down, so my massive thanks and gratitude to John for the organisation and all who attended, while others sat on the side-lines!
  7. Well they called their forum our club name (minus the MK2 bit anyway) - probably unknowingly, so on the VBOA side it would just be a removal of the MK2 bit.
  8. This car was at Sywell last year, someone like @Rich will have some up close pictures of it *probably*. I think I have some clips of it on video. Was very clean from what I remember!

    Welcome to the site mate. Interesting to see this one again, glad to see it's still going. If you look on the events videos of the club over the years you will see this one pop up. If you want to know anything about it, one of the longest owning - owners was @Matt O-SRi << even his avatar was this (your) car. Anyway, great to see it still going strong!

  13. Expression would be a MK3 not a MK2 cavalier - so here in UK that would be 1988 model year, not 87. However, the two cars are very similar - in fact the MK3 was developed using MK2 component cars. If you are in another country, the MK2 Cavalier was sold as the Ascona C, and the MK3 was sold as the Vectra A. Hope this helps, and be good to see a pic once you've gone!

  16. I've edited your post and welcome Tony. For the sake of the black paint that would look a tidy Calibre hatch! I wouldn't give a MK2 away without having a drive in it first, even if it was to your first born! @Greg is our resident LX/LXi addict btw so I'm sure he'll be along to say hello shortly too!

    Yup after *some* moaning about not trying other places we had a couple of more "interesting" stays! Ibis was incredibly basic, but at least it had its own bar. Smack bang in the middle of those who are coming is fine by me if there's a premiere inn or equivalent so long as no need to drive from evening refreshments. If we've got a placeholder weekend I'll post it on FB once we've picked the middle of those going on here.

    There is a reason it always ended up being Northampton, as in - if the northerners welsheners were coming! It was literally the middle point. So rather than for everyone deciding location, perhaps we get a list of definites who's up for it, then put a pin in the middle to find somewhere? Those from the south (and south wales) always ended up doing to most driving before by numbers, but those up north (or in Ireland) always came the furthest.
