  1. so in other words, ive got circa 11 weeks to either get my rotbox roadworthy or buy another car if i want to make the big one in a mk2 cav???
  2. Could we not write to the head office expressing concern to this change? If enough members from enough clubs hit the head office with letters of complaint/ concern, maybe the decision could be over ruled
  3. 25 minutes left for a cheap beige saloon on ebay.

    Sal's Calibra

Matt, beige betty was my old car and at the time i owned her was a solid and very original example. Unfortunately subsequent owners ripped the heart out of her originality and let her go to a sad state. Her new owner describes her as rough, which is really sad as she was in above average condition for her year when i had her. I think she could be brought back to her good old self with care and attention, of which you would be a perfect person to do so, but not at the price advertised, its way to high now. I sold that car in good faith to someone who promised to restore her at less than half the current asking price in totally original condition, not the way she sits today, but thats down to the greed of certain people rather than for the good of the car. I'll say no more on the matter, but good luck if you wish to take her on....i enjoyed my ownership a huge amount. and i think you would too mate....go for it!!
  5. Fookin how much? get camping man! I ve camped there and it was unseasonably wet for the few hours that i was there, but i can whole heartedly recommend it. \Ive even slept in my van before now (against the rules by the way...as the van was french) so anything goes really. May even come this year and camp subject to the high tide.........in another french van funnily enough but that does at least have the decency to wear a vauxhall badge, rather fitting for the occasion i think.
  6. so i opened the tailgate today on the estate and water came out of the speaker grills......not a good thing i guess?

  7. Love the car, and more importantly the colour....that is friggin awesome. You are so lucky to own that so I hope you treasure it. I would love a green car!
  8. Can you get the metal stitched on that?
  9. Im talking next year Steve. lol
  10. Anyone else know that the Coventry spares day is now in October, rather than march. Is this a good thing following the decision to change Billing as well? Handy if your planning a winter rebuild, but a nightmare if your relying on parts for the coming season.
  11. Just got back from the NEC motor show and shocked to find just ONE mk2 cavalier sri! A number of clubs were celebrating various anniversaries, just wondering if we could muscle in for the 35th birthday? Was a cracking show, packed with people, and plenty of Vauxhalls, just the most important model was missing.

  12. Well I'm definitely going, flooding or otherwise, in a mk2 cav, even I have to bloody buy one...again. Time my old estate met up with some its production line friends.
  13. Its another few days to get my heap ready so not all bad!
  14. We need more than one like per day!! Can this be changed?

  15. have you changed the flexi pipe between the air box and inlet manifold? seems to have silver tape on it in your picture of engine. That could cause all sorts of problems as you will have un metered air entering the manifold. Usually, if the pipe is split, when you rev hard, the engine moves slightly and the split opens causing the engine to misfire.. How long has the car been stood idle? You may have rust / dirt in the fuel tank clogging the inline filter. The fuel pick up in the tank also has a filter attached which could be blocked. Fuel gauge earth wire has to connect to the sender on the tank, if you connect it to any other metal point on the car, the gauge will read full all the time.
  16. You sure its not a clutch fault?
  17. Offer him £50, he won't get much more as scrap at today's prices. I gave mine to the scrap yard what was left of it. Won't get much for the estate either when that goes, wish I'd done it last year when scrap was worth something.
  18. Grrrrrreeeeeeeeeeggggggggggggggg! one for you matey.
  19. Not even the slightest bit jealous of all you guys going this weekend  Note to self " must buy more reliable vehicle"
  20. You know me too well Richie, ! No time or access to vauxhall stuff at the moment, all the bloody citroen stuff is in the way.
  21. Might turn up then just to see that, in my freshly mot'd astra.
  22. Cant imagine Munt in a straw hat.? I bet he likes the £1 tools though. :P
  23. Sorry to hear that Ivan, your part of the Billing furniture. Hope you are both ok.
