  1. thats a rare find, even has an accessory passenger door mirror, proper 80's car have you considered someone like powerflow to fabricate an exhaust?
  2. Ha. I've got more rust around the fuel flap than you
  3. Thanks Frisco! The amount of time that's been plugged into Tech1 and I'd forgotten all about it...
  4. Hi all, this is a little embarrassing, I've forgotten what a connector is for under the bonnet... Next to the washer bottle, with the RON plug and fuel relay loom. It doesn't go anywhere but has a link fitted/plugged in. Any ideas what it's for appreciated. It's an 88 2.0 SEH
  5. Wow, I'd actually forgotten about those door satchells... Pal had some in an early SR saloon (probably liberated from the scrap yard)
  6. Great result, especially those rims, and that steering wheel! Here's one for the ideas box... Chrome door handles ?

hopefully the garage wont be empty for long... then its time to fill it with mk11 essentials, Mig welder, cv joints, headlamps, lock sets etc etc
  8. Are they out of kiddie seats? My mk2 cav rear belts didnt go around the younger seats, and fitted in the front my daughter jumped out of her skin every time the wipers went...
  9. slightly off topic... spotted an immaculate Chevane van on a trailer late Friday evening Nr Birmingham on the M6, and a driving HSR on the A14 Sat 5pm. Assumption made both at Sywell...

    Hi there

check for rot... old rot and badly repaired rot! Usual suspects include rear chassis, arches, inner & outer sills, floors sometimes bulkheads and around the front turret. Not much is unrepairable, theres a whole world of ongoing projects on these pages for inspiration
  11. Hi Cole, The mk3 Expression was (if I recall from my days in sales) around J or K plate, so 1991/2, in a light metallic blue or red, had the Cavalier LX alloys and similar black/red striped seat trim to the Astra SX. A 1987 Cavalier could have been added with the expression graphics by a car dealer... We badged up some Corsa's as " Monaco " as we fitted aftermarket TSW monaco wheels and put the SRI spoiler on. Good luck with the viewing, be good to see the pics
  12. Dont forget Oxbow if I recall, Oakley boasted Thermonobular protection...
  13. looks amazing. Other than the Range Rover, pic could be summer 1991
  14. Very interesting project. Put that motor in my shell, the engine and 'box would run off into the distance I see another VW rim being put to good use! I use a Golf 'R' rim to store my hosepipe...

    I'm back

dont rule out an Astra "H", less prone to rotting for a start
  16. if i recall, the 5 speed was optional at a cost of around £200...its amazing how many standard 4 speeds were sold!
  17. very nice, just keep that Astra away from it, the gearbox self destruction mode is contagious...
  18. That reminds me, where did I leave the mig welder...
  19. that's some collection... bet you're never short of "stuff to do"
  20. always good to see a 2 door... make sure shes protected underneath for uk conditions
  21. Hi Ron, I'm saying SNAP! Sad circumstances but you're lucky to have a low mileage one owner calibre... Keep us posted with the roll out!
