All what I mentioned are cost free things you can do
If its the big rubber inlet hose, there is a quick fix to get you by. Its a bit of a bodge however.
If you want to start throwing money at it then there are lots of things you can do.
Check for a bad earth on the fuel sender and run a seperate earth to it if you need.

and was running fine until sunday morning when it started running a bit rough!!!(missing)
Check for any air leaks and clean out all the throttle body etc. for a starter.

I would tend to think its the brakes that are faulty, not the master cylinder.
I think you are looking too deep. ;D
-
I dont understand Rich, surely they only test one (front or rear) axle brake efficiency at a time? I didnt think they checked all four brakes simultaneously.
Maybe you have duff brakes at these opposite corners and its not the master cylinder at all?

Very occasionally the fuse box literally melts and it is damaged around the fuse

...... but got a BMW instead
Stick with it.

What's my 2door?
Isn't that an ascona SRe?
I know it's LHD saloon not a hatch
"e" is German, einspritzung (injection) I think.
Yours has just a carburetter (vergaser), hence yours is an SR.

Was this on ebay last year.

Its a good idea but I think low emission zones will be of more concern in the future.

Is this the same car?

Foggy and wind? Never known that before?

You can ask on here for virtually anything, somebody somewhere will probably have it, try your luck.

Does not a Camira hub fit instead? The early cav struts 1981-83 vary to the later ones 1984-88.
I was trying to make things easier.

I would have thought just a straight brake caliper swap was the easiest way but who knows?

Dump the standard brakes and put the bigger ones on. Most people do it, like you say you will need bigger wheels though.

If that one is in Wigan then its further north still...
Looks nice though even if its a good example of how not to put the roof down, probably got no hood cover though.
-
To be honest I dont have a clue, its a bit of a knee jerk reaction.
But if you are interested you can PM me so we dont start a 'whats it worth' conversation on here.
View the competition first and see how bad it gets. Im in no hurry.

Fair enough, just think of the work you could save though.

Is Derby too far?
Only been wet twice in five years, not been outside for over two, sat in a dry garage for at least the last two and a half? (Red tax disc although it is a recent picture).
South coast car originally. Spoilt for many recent years. Regularly serviced. SORNed at present. Needs MoT to go, thats about the situation at present. Requires no work at all.
17" evos alloys with Goodyear Eagles, calibra leather interior, alloy strut brace, immobiliser with only one key and recent locks. Body coloured mirrors and windscreen surround, late model grille. Anthracite bumpers etc. Standard 1800e engine/transmission, manual.
Jvc stereo/speakers with mp3 etc, larger 16v front Calipers and discs, newish hella headlamps, indicators and hella fogs (Lotus), 40mm lowered, power steering, electric boot release, perfect hood cover.
Later spec skirts, spoiler and rear lights, digidash, unblemished mohair roof and black headliner. Excellent bodywork.
Corsa C stalks, Mk3 Cav steering wheel, spare full set of glass and some additional spares too.
This is hurting........... and dare I say it. Not the usual crap that is around.

Does anyone know if this is possible to buy traffic lights back there in the UK?
And then send them to Brazil?
Looking forward,
Bec
http://www.opel-classicparts.com/ will stock them, use the telephone and a credit card for easyness.
