Went for a recce for the first time last Sunday. It's a free entry show. Excellent line up of hundreds of Classics, Americans, Customs. One  solitary Mk2 Cav 1.6L there - I hope to join him there with my LX in one of the next few events. Plenty of restaurants on site - so you can pitch up early and have a Wetherspoon's breakfast overlooking the marina (not a Morris Marina though you may see one later). Then, after the show, you could drive into Portsmouth and visit Gunwharf Quays (shopping) or the historic dockyard.

Let me know if you are interested. Happy to offer my garden in Fleet as a 'camping lodge' for anyone who wants to meet up the night before and then drive down early Sunday morning.

LX ownership has allowed me to create 500 new welding jobs in my area - so, great for the local economy.

What time do the gates open on Sunday? Thinking of arriving as early as poss. Tried to find out on the VBOA website but can't see it (probably old age).

As you mentioned earwigs, I seem to have had quite a few as passengers on the way back after roughly bundling the tent in the back.

Weather forecast for next weekend not looking so good now based on latest data - looks like it could be wet - how wet is unclear.

Excellent Andy - first time I've watched it.........................now.. "I have to go for a pee before I watch it again"

Let me add my thanks to those involved from the Club for their efforts in organising this. I enjoyed the event and the laid back atmosphere. Had a good trip back, avoiding the lower section of the M1, the old LX never missing a beat.
