  1. Looks like I might be marauding around here again dudes! Just got myself an early-ish Mk2 SRi hatchback. Taxed and tested, just swapped it for a Vectra with a cracking lad off Retro-Rides. It`s in dire need of a bloody good clean up and some paintwork and other jobs but it goes well enough.

    Edited and picture added!

  2. Definately and you`ve the added bonus that everytime you look at it you`ll know it was YOU who saved it and when it`s finished and you look at the pictures of how it was when you bought it you`ll get a feeling of great satisfaction.

    Go for it!

  3. Is it possible the plate was transferred and because you don`t know the `new` number that was given to the Calibre it won`t show up?

Totally agree when you say nothing can come close to a MK2 you`ve owned. I miss mine so much it hurts, can`t think why I ever sold it in the first place.

How much do you want for your MK3? That`s a nice looking motor you`ve got there mate.

  4. I have posted the pictures of your car that you e-mailed to me and put them on this site. If you go `featured cars and projects` you will see it there. Hope this helps mate, tell your boss he should let you use the internet for a bit longer each day!

  5. Welcome to the club, you`ll never regret joining it. I`ve not been here that long but everyone is very friendly and welcoming and you`re never far from some friednly advice and help.

  6. Nice one, I`ll have to come and have a look at it when you`ve done it. When the lad up the road from me had it he spent every waking hour putting different bits on it-some good some bl**dy awful.

He did say why he sold it but I had forgotten. He`s then bought a 740 BMW, a right old shed of a thing and now can`t sell it to save his life. I`ve offered him a load of cheap cars but he`s so fussy it`s unreal. He`s running around in some old car which is crippling him in insurance and juice, I offered him a `K` reg MK3 2.0 with long MOT for £160 (and it`s a bloody good car for that as well) and he moaned because someone told him it "would want brake pads in the next 6 months!" I ain`t kidding.

I`ve given up with him now, he`s a nice enough lad but wouldn`t know a good deal if it kicked him in the knackers ;D

  7. Sounds just like the one a lad up the road from me (in Chester) owned and probably is. He fitted a few extras to it including an evo rear spoiler and a front splitter to it amongst other bits if it is the same one.

Very tasty motor, he had it a while but I recall he upset a few locals coz he was always driving at stupid speeds round the local streets when the kids were out playing >: and the sound of the dump valve drove even hardened petrol heads like myself round the bend :)

Fair play though, a lovely looking car (even though I owned a standard one before him ;D :Ha :Ha :Ha :Ha).

  8. I think it was actually-the one I owned that is. It definately got re-reg`d on a Shropshire suffix when the previous owner wanted the private plate back and I was going to say I think the letters ended in UJ. Do you know of it`s whereabouts now? It was a very tidy and very original car though the arches were starting to go when I sold it and I`m pretty sure the lad who bought it later said he`d had them done, think it cost him £250 per side.

The interior was unmarked, it had an Irmscher exhaust and there was no Irmscher badge on the grille. Love to know if it`s still doing the rounds. Cost me a f****** fortune to re MOT it-mostly welding but also new fuel lines and other bits but was a stunning car.

Got refused insurance on it by 5 companies as well I recall, this despite being about 36 or 37 with a full no claims and a clean licence! :?

  9. and know there were only about 10 F reg ones registered,

Knew in lad in North Shrops who had an F reg one, bought it from Swansea I think. Anyhow he reckoned they`d made 17 on an F reg.

Mine WAS registered on a private plate (A2 EWJ) but the previous owner wanted the plate back and mine got re-registered. Buggered if I can remember what the number was though! I think it ended in BUJ? I sold it to a lad from the Lake District about 3 years ago.

There is (or was) another calibre on eBay very recently and it was doing big money, don`t know if it`s finished yet.
