Another subject but does anyone have insurance companies they can recommend for insuring these cavaliers cheaply?
I have mine insured with Peter Best Classic car Insurance Services. It was £147 for the year, fully comp, 3000 miles limit. ;D

This is our MK2 Cavalier Convertible, it is used every day in all weather and is displayed
on the show seen all year round .
It's my wifes car and when we met she hated car's and could not understand why I did the shows .
Now she is as mad about cars as me and now looks after here car more than she looks after me ;D
We can make the car available for most shows if you would like to use it
we live in the East Midlands area.
Hope you like
Ohhhh, didnt I see this car in Practical Classics a couple of months back?
Also wasnt it at Billing 2007 this year, I remember seeing it in the Convertible Car Club show stand?
Very smart ;D

Just thought id tell u all, A408LBA is declared sorn and still has a registered keeper!
Where did you find that info from Mat? ;D

im going to mate well its stripped down i am going to go through everything so that there will be no rot anywere and then it will be coverd every where in waxoil /seam sealer so that there will be no chance of it happening again ;D i like the idea about billing if it is done by then as i will be doing most of the work (apart from the paint ) my self
Good luck with it all Dave.Keep us all posted with plenty of pics once you start ;D
-
yet mate first thing that will be done is take it for mot just to get an idea of what is needed and then it will be slowly stripped down and rebuilt but with a few small tweaks but i must state that anything changed will be completely reversable and any bits will be kept
Sounds fantastic Dave. Start a project thread on it ?! I would be most interested to follow your progress.Any help needed to start the thread just ask mate.
Captain, thats a cracking idea about the trio thing. ;D
-
that looks fantastic mate have u any idea what the chassis is like on mine , just wondering how much welding ill be doing lol as it is going to be rebuilt
I remember looking under the rear and seeing quite a bit of surface rust on the rails but that might be superficial as opposed to rot.
When I saw it it was rather scruffy but seemed to look quite solid.I think Spleenless cleaned it up since then though.
Are you taking it for an MOT soon?
I'm so glad someone with an interest in these cars has brought it! ;D
