Hi there , that looks really nice and welcome to the club mate ;D

Yeah thats Billys old SRi identical to mine. ;D

I remember once I'd got it home (legally of course  ;D) the oil light started flashing at me!! So I cained it to the limiter, it was being broke up anyway. >

matt
it had been welded when the car was 2 years old it had a very nasty front end smash. the car was sent to vauxhall and was repaired the whole front end bulkhead forward was replaced ;D
Just a shame it wasnt looked after, after the crash. :'(

car has nether had any welding or ever been filled
Your damn right it hadnt been ever welded!! It had virtually no boot floor, no chassis legs, no sills and the wheelarches had fell off years ago and the rot on the inner arches was creeping up the quarter panels. It was rough as a bears whatsit but still very useful for the spares and still bloody quick! >.

The welcome here might wear a little thin if the SEH you want came from the 'holy grail' a MK2 130. Much better for your purposes would be an early Mk3 SRi engine which was also an SEH. More of them out there so probably cheaper and easier to find too.
Johns got a point ...............
Unless its a complete rotter with a good engine, then I'd find a Mk3 to break.

Am sure mine have Calibre on the V5, but couldn't be 100% sure
It definatly had 'Calibre' on the V5, I remember seeing that and feeling relieved at the time.

One question what tyre pressures should I be running?
Not sure the exact figure Kevin but when I had my Cally and come to think of it every Cavalier I've owned including the present SRi, I've always run the tyres at anything between 32 and 35 PSI. ;D
-
Nice to see them still on the road and being loved in other countrys too ;D

Get it back on the road Sam ;D >

I've recently purchased a Cavalier Calibre for £350 which has been stored for 5 years and need to fit a new lock set to it. Can any one advise where the best place to get one from is.
Not much else wrong with the car no rust other than what is mentioned below, trim all there etc. Has gone through MOT but failed on items a few items head light bulb, rear number plate bulb, 1 tyre and a couple of rust holes the size of a pin.
Kevin
That looks very nice and extremely solid and all for £350!
Result! ;D

Not sure whats wrong, but for now just disconnect the switch. This will stop the battery from draining.I'd try a new switch to be honest, they cant be expensive. ;D
