  1. Must say both cars are stunning, would love a convertible but both insurance and the area i live in make one unsuitable

Well going by what ive seen if you've got everything including dashboard, door cards, trim etc. id say £50-£70+ but if theres someone needing exactly what you've got it could be anyones guess. Its really depending on what someones willing to pay some maybe more than others. If you strip the interior personally id stick it up for offers and go from there. It'd be great if i had a few round near me i live in Luton and i find it hard to see 1 in 1 month would you believe . And as SR_1.6 says there getting real scarce so the more you get the more money you can possibly make ^-^

Yeah definately because the majority of Mk2's left are Sri's, Cdi's and Calibres meaning most of the lower spec parts are non existant, so there will be a few who will pay through the roof for immaculate original parts.

Cheers yeah i can understand what your on about for sure, i think it would definately be a long term project i've managed to cope with doing my mini for two years, i reckon i still have a couple more too :-\, but ill be looking for a cavalier very soon and it'll be put in a lock up until the mini is done, then the fun will begin ;D. Id like to go bonkers with it and i think that the 2.0 16v and turbo conversions are getting extremely popular and after seeing your 2.5 v6 i think ill have to go mad with a 3.0 v6 dunno about turbos though have to see cause as you say you'd be using space that aint there.

I was thinking along the lines of a 3.0 v6 modded to the extreme but take my time, sort of what i have done with the mini go mad on mods but take my time doing them so i can afford it. What do you think i could get out of a 3.0 v6 if i go mad with it? Ive been looking at a Mk1 Astra thats been converted with a Calibra 4 wheel drive floor pan and was thinking would it be possible to use the same principle on the cavalier with a Cav turbo or calibra turbo block? The wheels would be done by professionals i was just thinking about it because i don't particually like aftermarket non GM wheels on the Cavalier and using a GM wheel as a base to keep the origin of the car but make them bigger with a more interesting rim with split rim design bolts going through them all the way round similar to the latest idea in the mini cirle use original 79/80 mini special wheels take the rim off and make them into a wider split rim wheel.

I've been thinking things over i've seen Jason W has a 2.5 v6 from a mk3 cavalier on here, but i wasn't sure whether you could convert a 3.0 v6 from an omega onto the 2.5 v6 vectra gearbox (sorry dont know what one it is ) similar to the vectra 3.0 conversion in last months Total Vauxhall and stick it into the front of a mk2, i cant see why not but there probably is issues :-[, But in general plan will be when i eventually get a mk2, itll be virtually standard inside and out, but engine/gearbox, brakes, suspension etc. will be upgraded, hopefully scare a couple of RS focus's and the like. Im looking at getting a set of Mk3 Cavalier GSI wheels and modifying them with a deeper dish and converting them into a split rim design, as i've seen wheels converted on other cars especially minis.

I think itll be a few months before i can get one because i gotta purchase front brakes £200 and wheels £500 for mini next month.

Hi thanks for the welcome , when i first got the mini 2 years ago right indicators were turned on by flicking stalk for left hand side and left handside worked when you pressed the hazards. Its going to be a long haul project (see http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=12710&st=195) but i want to get the cavalier soon before they turn extinct :-[ ,so i think as soon as i can get a lock up ill get the cash together and look for a CDI or a SRI OR SRI 130.

Im a vauxhall fanatic when i was knee high i had to stop by any vauxhall dealer or my local plant (Luton) just to look at cars or nick a few brochures lol. Everyone in my close family have atleast owned 2 or more Mk2's each, shame they didn't keep em :-[ ,try and find a few pics. Ill look into becoming a fully fledged member once i get one. Curtis
