  1. well done for saving her most people would have just left her to end her days on the banger track if you think you've got a hard task ahead of you just take a look at gregs lx project thread  now thats what i call dedecation i brought an x reg 1.3 base model 2 years ago and i still have not got round to finishing it  ;D ;D

  2. looks like ypu've done a smashing job of restoring her  8) as a matter of interest the reg no of the gold cav b32 npv was originally from suffolk where i live so it looks like she's well traveled

  3. i hope to be able to answer some of your questions thecav lx is getting a bit thin on the ground especially in saloon form it depends how attached you to her the best option if funds are limited is to only use her for 6 months of the year in summer insure her on a classic car policy i recomend lancasters i only use my ascona from april through to to september and the cdi as a daily driver it on cost me £93 fully comp for the ascona with a 3000 mile limit and £112 for 6 months road tax we don't usually get involved in the how much is it worth debates except went some dealer buys a cav cheap and then trys to sell it at a vastly inflated price the car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it if you do keep the car then joining the club is £15 well spent as it will give you access to lots of friendly advice and difficult to source parts hope this answers some of your questions

oh and as for webuyanycar.com offering you £50 for your cav tell them to politley f**k off  ;D ;D

  4. hi mate welcome to the site there are plenty of people on here who can give you hints and tips on keeping your cav on the road i assume the engine is an 1.8e injection so first thing to do is check the air inlet pipe from the airflow meter to manifold for splits or leaks plus the 2 hoses that go to and from the air bypass valve an air leak on thse hoses with cause the airflow meter to provide more fuel to compensate for the air leaks and will make engine tick over high

  5. yes i saw it parked up with the other late arrivals lol  ;D you missed out on all the fun like chavs keeping us awake until 5 am sat morning and b****y guard dogs barking most of sat night  the main thing is you made it there just make sure you get there earlier next year as its gonna be very busy for the mk2 cavs 30th birthday bash  8) 8)

  6. as newbody is kindly bringing a 240 volt genetator i have just finished making up a lead with 2 light fittings to bring some light to the gazebo and i will be also bringing a 6 metre rope light to provide a bit of a party atmosphere and a laptop with an sd card reader so we can look at the photos taken during the day
