Just as an update, after many silly low offers i finally settled for £1300. As you may have seen the car is now back on ebay for £1987 after having the seat bolster repaired and a pollish. Still, at least it is sitting in a show room in the dry instead of outisde going rusty. Going to miss the old girl. Really surprised by how little it went for comsidering its condition. As i said before maybe too ambitious, but at that price, they are certainly not an investment to restore yet, but give it a few more years, they must be!

So that jinxed it! The winning bidder seemed ok on email, but then sent me a text to say he could no longer buy it because his mrs wouldnt let him!?! Why do these people not think before they bid? So I offered it to the second chance offer with the email and text attached, he replied saying "sorry i dont do second chance offers" .... So not happy with the ebay process, and putting in a complaint. So anyone on here wanting to give her a loving home for £1500? Really gutted about being so messed about, but glad it isnt going to someone who wouldnt look after it. :'(

Well, its met the reserve now so fingers crossed it goes through smoothly!

Thanks guys, hope it gets the reserve, dont think i am being too optimistic. The red is because they sprayed it all red when it was completely stripped down to the bare shell then the anthracite over the top, not ideal but looked fine till it flaked off there. I also have another cav LX for sale which i kept for spares. Still complelty in tact and will be sold after this one. What do people think the going rate for an LX like mine is? Am i being greedy with the reserve? Thanks again

Hi guys, this is a very sad time to give up the Cav. It has being loving restored and I have set the reserve at £1500 just in case. I use it everyday and have done the last 5 years since the rebuild, tried to keep it as original as possible and it has been maintained no matter ehat the cost. 12 months mot.
