i just had a mechanic friend check it out , all original (no welding) , under carpet mint and although the rear arches have bit of rot are all in good shape. seriously guys this thing is a good example !!!! who cares about what the girlfriend thinks !!!! (hope she doesnt see that comment ) )) cant wait to finsh cleaning her !!! then i will coming to some shows this year !!!

HI , thanks for the reply, Don't you worry the Austrailian classic line was already used !!! still not impressed The car cost me only 200 quid, i had 500 to spend on a "classic" but after going to look at it , i knew after abit of TLC she would be a special car !!! The boot rattles but i think this was a common problem for the phase l but other than that it spot on , even the rear washer works !!! do you have any meets/shows that you all attend ? I am a citroen man but it looks like this cav is swaying me, the ride and comfort is superb. The engine is smooth and with the new backbox is very quiet too. After searching the site I have my eye on a sri130 but this "austrailian classic" will do me fine !!! Just need some standard steelies as my rear ones have browned off !! Im going to keep the car 100% standard even if the standard stereo hasnt even got FM radio!!!! will get some pics up in the next couple of weeks as i think you will be impressed with cleaniness of the interior more than anything !!! even if the seats are brown !!!

Hi !! I have always been into my "classic cars" !! I am only 23 but now own a 26 year old car !!!She is beige and the cigarette lighter is unused !!! I must admit I have had a few citroen bx's and vw's !!!! but this modern classic is so rare i havent seen an estate for years !!!!! I bought her off gumtree christmas eve , she had 2 months tax and mot till sept. She was very rugged until i got my magic t-cut out !!! everything works and the engine bay will be mint once i ve got my cloth in there .......... what shall i look out for as i know the mk2 did rot . what is the 1.6 engine like ?? ive done 1500 miles in a week and it never missed a beat !!!! now i just need to persuade the girlfriend the brown estate is cool !!!
