  1. If lmf was the issue, why does the vboa not approach mh to rent the showground or a portion of it and then hire in facilities as required. Mh definitely had a festival feel about it and i wouldnt trust billing management not to do the same again in the future. It seems that the better billing option for us gives vboa most control over the event resulting in more admin work anyhow. Is mh not cheaper?

  2. Are you allowed to tell us what lmf said that was so bad? I enjoyed MH , and couldnt really see what is so much better about billing other than say showers etc which are more permanent. The site needs investment thats true, but im nervous about billing pulling the same trick again. Was there any feedback from other clubs on their issues with MH?

  3. Right thanks for clearing that up John. I had heard rumours that they approached us not the other way round. Thats the old chinese whispers at work then. What was so wrong with MH? I thought most people seemed happy with the progress of changes at the new site. To reiterate Paul's comments though,  you are the man for the reps job. I appreciate its not always easy though, but you have my full support in whatever decisions you make on the clubs behalf.

  4. If billing is so keen to get the vboa back on site for a major event, surely the vboa must have enough clout to dictate how they want it run. For my few visits to billing, i always thought it worked well, save for the usual idiots driving like morons on site. Last minute camping was a boon, especially for those whose car may not be ready in time and therefore may not attend. If the vboa doesnt stand its ground now we could well get turfed out again in the future. Billing made a big mistake for which they will have paid financially and coming back cap in hand to offer show facilities again must give us the upper hand.  Dont waste the opportunity,  it will only be given once.

If he's in a Cav then that means there is a good chance the CavBar will be trailing him. No other Club has anything like it.

You are indeed correct John. That was part of the agreement, witnessed by Andy i might add. Was good to see you and chat yesterday.

  6. Well back after an awesome time at MH. I didnt see last year's efforts to compare to this years but from what people have said its a huge improvement. For a show in only its second year i thought it was really good....sure some things could be better but i really think this venue has got the chance to make it superb and to equal billings offering. Thanks also to Jason aka newbody who has promised to be there next year in a cav!! A sterling commitment by any standards...and one which we have recorded so no backing out!!

  7. Early days but sills and arches i think. That said the arches may only need some remedial repair depending on what i uncover.....not even got a welder yet but getting the prep work done now.  April should hopefully  bring a vat free day at machine mart so i can get a new welder.. whatever happens it will be going back on the road now

Finally got a quote for my welding, £400-600, best news I've had in a while.

Floor being done this week the rest being done when my parts arrive..

Sounds very reasonable that.  I need to pull my finger out and get mine welded up.

what a stroke of luck, possibly! Dave has a good tailgate, Chris has a rusty one! imagine if it was the same colour..........

Lol....just need a welder, sills, wings, time, money, new head gasket, new suspension and a million other things and it will be like the day it left the factory.

  10. Estates are few and far between now so you wont have a massive amount of interest but that said there arent too many around for sale either, post some pics up and a price and see where you go from there. I maybe interested dependent on condition and price as i have an estate and the tailgate is rusty round the glass area.

  11. Hopefully you have and its great that you have chosen to come to an owners club to ensure the best route for the cars future. In fairness there is more traffic on the facebook side of the site but there are also more idiots and non enthusiasts on there too putting it at risk of someone wanting it to break fir parts for profit or worst still ending up on the banger track. Some pictures would be most helpful along with an idea of price and location too. Bear in mind that a few weeks before xmas may not be the best time. Very good luck and i look forward to seeing some pictures.
