Anyone else know that the Coventry spares day is now in October, rather than march. Is this a good thing following the decision to change Billing as well? Handy if your planning a winter rebuild, but a nightmare if your relying on parts for the coming season.
-
Well I'm definitely going, flooding or otherwise, in a mk2 cav, even I have to bloody buy one...again. Time my old estate met up with some its production line friends.
-
Its another few days to get my heap ready so not all bad!
-
have you changed the flexi pipe between the air box and inlet manifold? seems to have silver tape on it in your picture of engine. That could cause all sorts of problems as you will have un metered air entering the manifold. Usually, if the pipe is split, when you rev hard, the engine moves slightly and the split opens causing the engine to misfire..
How long has the car been stood idle? You may have rust / dirt in the fuel tank clogging the inline filter. The fuel pick up in the tank also has a filter attached which could be blocked.
Fuel gauge earth wire has to connect to the sender on the tank, if you connect it to any other metal point on the car, the gauge will read full all the time.

You sure its not a clutch fault?

Not even the slightest bit jealous of all you guys going this weekend
Note to self " must buy more reliable vehicle"

You know me too well Richie, ! No time or access to vauxhall stuff at the moment, all the bloody citroen stuff is in the way.
-
Might turn up then just to see that, in my freshly mot'd astra.
-
Paul you're welcome to all the t-shirts and straw hats
Cant imagine Munt in a straw hat.? I bet he likes the £1 tools though. :P

At least someone will get a chance in the auto jumble this year
LOL.
;D
-
Sorry to hear that Ivan, your part of the Billing furniture. Hope you are both ok.
-
Worst thing you can do is take money, you'll end up buying half the autojumble and going home with a car full of treasure.
-
I think cooking duties are down to me this year so they will be some Gordon ramsay going off f*****hell b*****ks and all that > :'(
Looking forward to this as long as my old car keeps running!
-
fantastic dude! looks really good!, keep those pictures coming.
-
Might manage it in the astra of death, if I put the cylinder head back on this weekend and actually fix the bloody thing.
Other than that for the estate, its replace sills and arches, lower rear quarters and rebuild / refit the v6 and blag an MOT in 88 days....and it'd look absolute crap at that, unless rat look is still in vogue?
-
88 days!! don't think I'll be making this in a cav again this year. :'(
-
Awesome colour mate....soooooo envious
