Hi, I’m Stu or known on here as 83Sri, I have been checking this excellent site for a while now so thought best that I introduce myself. I’m 30 years young now but have loved Mk2 Cavaliers since I was 17. I first bought a Cavalier when I was 17 and it was an A-registered Henna red 1.6L saloon and it was totally knackered, I bought this as I remember my dad test driving a 1.6 Cavalier some years before and I remember thinking how fast it seemed. I kept this for a couple of months before buying a 83 (NFE456Y) Cavalier sri saloon in aqua-marine blue metallic, I totally loved this car, I fitted a full janspeed exhaust including manifold and it sounded gorgeous, I don’t know what had been done to the car in the past but it was faster that other sri’s on the road, then one day on the way home from work the crankshaft pulley fell off whilst driving and this bent several valves, after that incident it never felt the same car, I then decided to swap the car with a mate for his XR3i and regretted it ever since, the sri was later written off when someone arse ended it and it was broken for spares. I soon went back to the Cavaliers and bought a 85 (C750BWX) Cavalier Cdi saloon in gold, I then when to a A registered MK1 Astra GTE in white, then a Belmont Sri and then two other D-registered Mk2 Cavalier Sri’s the last one I had was a 84 (A124AKY) Silver saloon I bought this for old times sake with 2 months T&T on it and ran it until giving it away. My list of Vauxhalls goes on but it includes a black Cavalier Gsi (H528VDM) and a grey one aswell. I now run a two year old BMW 325 sport (as well as the wife and 4 month old baby) but would still like to buy another Sri saloon one day in silver or light met blue an early one would be nice just to run round in for my pleasure as the wife doesn’t share my passion and says we don’t have room in the garage, when I do get round to getting one I will leave it standard but may drop it a little and put some Cavalier Gsi alloys on it as I believe they look nice like that. Oh and stick a janspeed on there too. Sorry if I have bored anyone whos reading this, I will let you know if I ever get hold of one. Cheers Stu
