You have to pay a fiver these days and it gets you all previous V5's

    hello

Thy assume you are a Pikey and have no insurance, which allows you to CUT them up.
  3. I've just spent 4 days using a Pool Car from work. A citroen C5 estate TDi. I had occassion to drive to Buxton for a Machinery Risk Assessment Course, from North Merseyside, so I did about 200 miles of which 95 was motorway, 70 was A road, 10 was in towns and the rest various Country Lanes. What do you think the Fuel Consumption was ? Modern 1.9 Variable Nozzle Turbo technology ? 35 mpg !!! Now this morning I drove my normal route to work, 14 miles of B roads and country lanes. 25 MPG !!!! > :o :o Okay so I do insist on overtaking if safe and legal to do so, so I overtook 7 cars this morning, but I've not really been that agressive. ;D

    hiya

The hood SHOULD be easy. When you are ready for that in about 2 years Mark Smelt (our convertible parts expert) will point you in the right direction. The Door ? You'll have to find a second hand one. Mark once bought a whole car for the rare door glass. I'm guessing that buying a spares car off ebay will make life easier.
  5. Ignore the lack of MOT and look at the true condition, then haggle HARD.

    newbe

I was in a traffic jam next to an immaculate Ascona B (Cav mk1 with different front) 4 door saloon, and thought how similar the mk2 cav and ascona C body shell is.

    v5 confusion

I'd not bother with the Tipex - just Cross it out and write your details in the margin.

    meeting?

Bourne End ? my uncle and aunt used to live in sugar lane. Big house called Four Winds on account of my uncle's bowel condition.
  9. I went down my allotment on Saturday to collect a few broad beans and I had to wear wellies to wade to my rotting crops. Bloke with the allotment next to mine was in tears (apparently it takes 3 years to grow asparagras) I was wondering how them in the south west midlands were doing.

    Dilemma...

Which is the better car ? V6 or Gsi vectra ? It's clear to me that your wife thinks that you don't need 3 cars, and has identified that the V6 is the one that must go. She does not want to be driving the Classic 130 with no PAS every day so she'll HAVE to use the Gsi. Seems your wife is more sensible than you think.
  12. what happened vto the 1.8e 8V ? Would make your mk2 a BEAST !!!
  13. We've met (Vitually!) That's Billy's old Cav ? From Chester ? It is ! And the Astra ? Well that's got a 146 BHP 1.8E 8V and I was going to buy it about 2 yaers ago Via Andy Mac on PistonHeads? [attachment deleted by admin]

    Hi from Russia

    Nice car and WELCOME !!!
  15. I have one rear seatbelt for a hatch, 2 or 3 lap belts and (if you want to spoil the originality a little) an early lower front spoiler to protect from stone chips. .
  16. Nice car, Do you want a perfect LX interior (no dash I'm afraid) Seats and Door cards. Cost me £15 and is sitting in a garage in Worcester. (I'm in Liverpool !) Or will you be keeping the interior standard ? There will be lots that love the Retro Green !! I love the BargainS !!!
  17. Rare because ? It's a Chevy and it's RHD. I'm sorry I was using my phone whilst driving but as I'd covered 1 mile in an HOUR, I thought it'd be safe to take a couple of photo's. Note : Do you believe in Karma ? Yesterday a Car broke down on the runcorn bridge about 2 mins before I got there. As I drove past the Omega I thought "I've got a tow rope in the boot, but I won't stop because I can't be arsed" My boss later complained he was late for work because of an omega broken down on the Bridge. Today my 45 minute Journey to work took 2 hours. Because somebody broke down on the Ruincorn Bridge. THAT is how krama works.

    Found...

THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITHOUT PICTURES. They came with 1.3carb, 1.6carb, 1.8i and 2.0i 8V's, I'd imagine that it was put away with some minor mechanical problem like head gasket and forgotten 4 stud et 49 wheels, much is mechanically interchangable between mk1, mk2 mk3 astra and mk3 cavalier. Rear arch repair panels are still available, Someone did manage to source a whole rear quarter panel new via the club but it was not cheap and came many miles. Rear lights are usually quite cheap. As for who owns it now ? I'd contact VOSA and ask advice. The owner of the buildings would probabally give it you to clear the space and then it's a question of contacting VOSA or DVLA. They have websites but I once phoned the VOSA freephone help line and they were VERY helpful.
  19. Most of Us Love Nova's (Done right!!) Electric mirrors came in two options 1) Early electric adjust only and 2) Later Electric and Heated YOU want the later one's Sri's CDi's Calibre's Gl's GLS's all have them and LXi's etc ? You need the switch from next to the Gearstick/handbrake and a set of second hand mirrors shurely won't cost more than £20 with the switch ? I paid someone £10 for 2 about 18 months ago because mine had broken mounts, and one had a damaged outercasing. Still got the old one's in the garage I think. I'm quite prepared to swap these for something vauxhall related (make a suggestion of something you don't need ;D) as IIRC the internals all worked. Unfortunately there's no switch. I guess that Calibra / mk3 cav one's might also work but just a guess.
  20. I can tell you that I paid £XXXX for a genuine one with nice body, none standard interior, non standard wheels, and dodgy MOT I can tell you Rabbit paid £XXX for the same car with an exploded engine I have no idea how much he sold it for But he was asking £XXXX. I can tell you how much Daz sold a Perfect Calibre (about a year ago?) and I'm sure if you look through the 'CARS for sale' History and 'Project Cars' you will find a few Calibres and then Just Email or PM the Owners to find out what they got for them or how much they paid. Anyway this is why : 1) We need a club valuation Scheme, 2) Agreed Value insurance is worthwhile (Unless it's a daily driver like my SRi it actually costs peanuts) Note that I had a conversation with andy king at Billing and he reckoned that the average amount spent on the 30 or so cars on our stand (Purchase plus repairs and restoration) was £1500 to £2000
  21. having owned a relatively low milage (80K) CDi auto and regretting selling it, I'd say KEEP it STANDARD and Get it like Dazzes 130 - Sparkly NEW.
