Kelvin, get a cuppa and look at this: http://www.mk2cav.com/topic/22089-gregs-lx/?do=findComment&comment=215520 This should provide some insight into what is possible.

It didn't look that bad in the pictures, did you have a poke round underneath when you looked at it in the flesh. Is the front subframe the footwells? Sounds like a welding fest. Pictures will help us help you.

The club has woken up.....nice poke Kelvin. My first cavalier was my granddads commander special ed. It was rotten and had to be scrapped in 1998. I still remember the image of the scrap yard claw picking it up and then I removed the wheels....sad times.

Great news Kelvin, we need some details.....model and budget (condition dependant of course) is a good start, also how far are you prepared to travel to collect? I guess you want an MOT'd one to drive it home? Did you want a project one (budget dependant I guess).

    Hi all

I think you need to pay to become a fully fledged member to put up a project thread. You will save the money on the first part you need for the project so its worth it You can also paste your pictures straight onto the site so no sharing site needed.
  15. Good job viktor.....my Russian is well er awful, but you can see the you love that car.
  16. hhhmmm, maybe.....some numpties might not like my brand of no nonsense replies mind lol.
  17. Should we launch a twitter account? You may think that this is wrong place to raise it, but at shows it could help coordinate things on whats happening and when? It could also bring in the appetite for immediate gratification that FB brings to bring people on to the stand and drum up some club support.....just a thought.

    SRi 130 Saloon

Very nice. Looking standard.....you can see why Vauxhall sold plenty back in the day.
  19. Welding is tricky on these cars, the rusty thin material is the problem so I wouldn't worry. Every mm of wire put into the chassis is new matel.....if its a bit proud grind it back. I took the worst off underneath then painted, seam sealered amd painted it again (I think). That chassis leg at the pivot point looks a tad light on material, are you patching it up or replacing it?
