  1. UPDATE TODAY FROM VBOA

John Ankerman visited Billing last Saturday and met with management to discuss the final arrangements for the VBOA National Rally. All is as per the info already circulated with the exception that a wedding party will be taking place in the Venue leisure centre on Saturday evening so there will be no general entertainment available as first thought. As agreed, an additional portable shower block will be installed next to Vinnies restaurant to service Swans Fields.

He then toured the site and inspected all the fields required for July. Despite the poor weather this year to date John reports that the ground was very dry (cracking in places) and the venue had hosted several very successful events already this year. John has asked that a heavy roller is used in some areas to flatten any rough patches created as a result of the drying process.

He also reports that substantial works have taken place to reinforce the river bank to minimise any future flooding risk from that quarter. All in all he was very impressed with the current condition of the site. Without wishing to tempt fate, all looks in good order for our event!

DON'T FORGET LAST DATE FOR DISCOUNTED BOOKINGS (not day visitors) IS 5th JULY

  2. No worries stu more the better.

I have been using it all week for work its a 95miles a day round trip so say about 380miles roughly and this morning I had to fill her up AGAIN so that's approx 80ltrs in 4 days!

Do you think I have a sensor or something gone?

    Please help.

You mean the 'right foot' sensor? :)

  3. Was great meeting up with you all this afternoon for a catch up.Just wish I could have stopped for longer. Have a good evening lads and lasses!  ;D

What are you doing messaging? You are supposed to be boogieing the night away.

  4. Did you know the place is evacuated right now again? Not a good sign lol! I'd probably be better in the hotel anyway!

It is a flood plain and one good reason for the show not being in November!!!

As to your parking position, I can't see it being a problem at all. Cars come and go on each day anyway.

It is not as if this is a protocol and rules heavy Club :)

  6. The VBOA Meeting at Billing is the biggest Vauxhall, Bedford and Opel show in the UK and this year is its 30th Anniversary. As before there will be a huge selection of clubs with all kinds of Vauxhalls from old to new.

The site is just off the A45 and its address is Billing Aquadrome, Crow Lane, Great Billing, Northampton, NN3 9DA.

Whilst the show dates are Saturday July 14th and Sunday July 15th 2012 we have members who turn up from Thursday and leave on Monday. As in previous years, Members who show a car on our stand will receive a 'Billing 2012' windscreen sticker.

The cost is the same as last year, with a pre-booked VBOA rally rate, which applies to the Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night of £15. Extra nights outside those days are £20.This discounted rate is for one vehicle with a maximum of four occupants. Extra vehicles are charged at £10 per day. Pre-booking also allows entry to the Leisure Centre swimming pool at half price, £2.50.

To pre-book call 01604 408181, select option 2 or 01524 781453 and quote the VBOA booking code - VBOA30 Do this BEFORE the 6th July as bookings after that date will be at the full rate. Please keep this booking information to Club members only.

Those coming for just a day and not staying overnight will be charged £10 per vehicle, with up to 4 occupants, on the gate with no pre-booking.

New this year, to celebrate the 30th Anniversary, the VBOA are laying on a Pig Roast near the Arena area at 19.30 on Friday night for VBOA Club members. This will be FREE but as there is a limited amount of food there will be a ticket system. Tickets will be issued to Club’s Admins and then passed onto Members on Friday night. There will be a Friday Pig Roast thread put on the site where you can request a ticket.

The existing toilet and shower blocks are to be refurbished plus an extra portable shower unit and toilet unit will be brought in for the Swans Field area. All will be open and serviced 24 hours a day.

The enhanced Billing Security team plus a dedicated VBOA dog handler will provide security and apply an 11.00pm site curfew/excess noise rule. Chinese lanterns are not permitted, as these are a potential fire hazard.

There will be entertainment in the Leisure Centre on Saturday night.

Park management will attend the 9.00am VBOA rep briefing meetings on Saturday and Sunday morning to handle any complaints about facilities etc.

The VBOA raffle in aid of charity is being beefed up a bit this year with, in addition to the normal VBOA/Vauxhall prizes, Billing providing the star prizes of

    2 static weekly holidays

2 touring holidays - weekly pitches

This should be a really good event, so get your names down in a post. Please do not modify the ‘who is coming when’ post. Mods will do that from your posts, just as we do with the ‘who has got what Cavalier’ thread.

Please keep this thread to booking only. Use the other Billing chat thread for chat!!!

  7. Welcome.

As a facelift Mk3 your Cavalier is dramatically better at resisting rot than a MK2. Its weak spots are the 'splashback' areas behind all four wheels and the 'splashforward' area at the bottom of the front of the rear arches, where the plugs are.
