These are the conditions that VBOA imposes due to insurance and airfield rules. The Club has agreed to them. Please abide by them. Two posts.

VBOA National Rally 2023 – Conditions for clubs exhibiting.

The VBOA committee and all those involved with the organisation of the national rally want
the event to be well attended, welcoming and friendly to all and to avoid any actions that
cause alarm, harassment or distress to individuals or endanger the safety of the site or other
users. To that end we have created this guidance which we would like you to share with
your members and reinforce with them whilst at the show.
Any verbal abuse of VBOA staff or volunteers will not be tolerated. If this happens, they
will be asked to leave the event and we will expect the club to deal with the member
    accordingly.

The area next to the showground at Sywell has a live runway, it is a criminal offence to
cross onto the runway or any area outside the showground, if any visitors to the show
enter this area the Police will be called and all of the party will be removed from site
without further warning. The barriers to the show area and between the show area and
the motorsport area must not be crossed. Any breaches of this nature have an implication
for the entire show and therefore individual clubs will be responsible for their members
on site and must ensure compliance with these regulations.

It should be noted that if it appears to the organisers that any exhibitor or club may be
engaged in activities which are deemed to be contrary to the best interests of the Show or
which appear unethical or to be in breach of the law, the VBOA Committee may, without
being under any liability to refund or abate any charges paid or due herein, cancel any space
allocation which may have been made to the exhibitor or club and require them forthwith
to vacate the stand space allocated to them and refuse the exhibitor or club the right to
participate further in the show. This includes any breaches of boundaries of the show and
any behaviour that is deemed to endanger life, bullying or harassment or put the VBOA’s
    insurance cover at risk.

⦁ Anti bullying and harassment statement
All club members, committee members and visitors to the show should be treated
and treat others with dignity and respect, they should be able to attend the show
without fear or favour and should treat fellow show attendees with dignity and
respect, always considering whether their words or conduct could be offensive.
Even unintentional harassment or bullying is unacceptable.

⦁ Speed limit and car movements
The speed limit on site is 5mph at all times and all cars moving around the site must
have their hazard lights on, this is for the safety of all. Show opening hours are
between 10am and 4pm Saturday and Sunday and during that time car movements
should be minimised, all movements outside the stand should be accompanied by a
banksman and extreme caution must be exhibited when driving around the show or
    manoeuvring cars on the stands.

  2. Welcome to our website.

Any car on a stand, as opposed to the any car public car parks, has to be owned by a member of a VBOA registered club. As there is no other VBOA club specialising in Cavaliers and the Mk3 is so closely related to our Mk2s  it makes sense to have them in the same place at the show. This will be the second VBOA show where both generations of FWD Cavalier have been on their own on the same stand.

This thread gives you details on the procedure you need to follow to show your Mk3 Cavalier (and camp if needed) on our Mk2 Cavalier stand at this years show.

    In summary

    - Check on this thread that space is still available (it is)

    - Buy a 6 month Mk2 Club membership via https://www.mk2cav.com/store/category/2-club-membership/

    - You need to decide when and how long you want to be at the show and pay VBOA for entry to the show via https://vboa.org.uk/index.php/product-category/vboa-national-rally-2023/  at the Club drop down we are MK2 Cavalier Owners Network

    - Add your name and details to the 'Join up' thread to reserve your place, making sure you add Mk3

    - check back here for updates and site information

    - when you get to the show say Mk2Cav and you will be directed to our stand

    - feel free to comment on the show 'Chat Thread' to tell us about your Cavalier.

  4. There are two things that have to happen to get on our stand.

To show a car on any stand at the VBOA Show you have to be a member of the Club whos stand you are on.

If you are not currently a Member you can rejoin/join up via https://www.mk2cav.com/store/category/2-club-membership/

You need to pay VBOA for entry to the show via https://vboa.org.uk/index.php/product-category/vboa-national-rally-2023/  at the Club drop down we are MK2 Cavalier Owners Network

Once you've done that you put a post below with answers to my questions above.

  5. As you all know, we treat this annual show as a social get together of the Club's Members.

This is our standard gathering information on who is coming thread.

As in previous years please do not amend the master summary post.

Please add your own post with the information requested and a Mod will add it to the master list before deleting it.

Again, do not put chat here as it will be deleted. Put it in the chat thread.

    VBOA want to know

    1. How many vehicles on the stand per day.  We want to know how many are Mk2 Cavaliers and how many are others, Vauxhall or not.

    2. How many tents and their approx size e.g. 2, 3 , 4 person etc The tents etc are at the back of the stand.

    3. Any caravans/motorhomes/trailers if any, as space may be limited.

So, when you say you are coming please state

    - name (handle and real), what car, reg, which day(s)

    - if overnight your tent size (people capacity), motorhome, caravan etc

    Thanks

    Greydj2 AKA John

  6. As its on a B plate with silver stripe bumpers, what you have there is almost certainly one of the very last early spec SRi. I had an May A reg, same colour, much nicer in my view than Helios that followed as there was a touch more blue in it, Helios is more silvery. Your photo makes it look silver.

It will have the F16WR gearbox.

    Where are you?

  7. Hotel booking site live on Monday.

Dear Affilated Clubs, The VBOA will NOT be taking hotel bookings for this years show, instead you will need to book direct with the Aviator Hotel at Sywell. The Aviator have confirmed they wil start to take bookings from Monday 9th January. You can book online https://www.aviatorhotel.co.uk/ or call  01604 642111Please note: The VBOA will NOT be able to assist with hotel booking enquiries.
