    Mk1 Vectra

    The Mk3 cavalier was the new model as this car was the vectra A it only got taken straight to the british publics harts because they called it a cavalier as for the vectra B a new model plus a new name put most people of in the beggining with some people slating the car with out even driving one I think that the vectra B was an ok drive early seats were a bit hard but all the issue's got sorted on the face lift as it did with the cav mk2 & mk3 but just dont get me started on the vectra C that is just total sh1te

  3. Yep cav had 4 speed box i forgot that until it was mentioned the 5 speed diesel came along in 85 when the brakes improved

    I think it comes down to how the car has been looked after ive got one of each & i cant realy say that one is better in build or rust prevention or anything for that matter it realy comes down to the same as any car the ones that are cared for will stand the test of time

Motronic operates on a 20 ignition cycle basis after that the ecu will revert back to base settings also 80% of the codes listed do not apply to motronic 1.5 there are for motronic 2.5 ,2.7 & simtec also all codes now have moved on to 4 digit lines so you can break down a fault to find out where the fault is > useing a 4 digit code will tell you if a fault is on a feed ,earth or on a unit or sensor its self the best way to tackle your problem is to have the code read properly the break down the code then you can pin point the problem Also as Karol said its best to stick to one system as by mixing & matching componets will also give you faults you can get a gost code by fitting a component that isnt matched to you system with there not actuly being a real fault there
  24. Recipe 1x novice 1x piece of wire 1x dead ecu dont mess about with things by shorting out pins one mistake you could end up putting 12v down an ecu or actuator earth then you will be worse off than you are now
