2. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff224/ikashiru/cavs%20misc/10_COMBO_CARL3_w.jpgRolling Road Weekender - RGS Motorsport Saturday (Optional Santa Pod RWYB Sunday* / Night at the ibis Wellingborough for those interested) The available slot is looking to be Saturday 8th of June (the same weekend Performance Vauxhall Show is on Sunday at the pod) RGS MotorSport will be providing the days entertainment. **URGENT**THIS EVENT IS NOW BOOKED **URGENT** It's a more comprehensive offering than you may have had before. It's not the usual bang them on and off again like some providers and RGS are eager to have us make this a regular booking. Cost is £10 Deposit and £30 on the day for which you will each receive: - Separate car health check & analysis (inc. suspension + other tech info such as corner weights etc.) - At least two series runs on the dyno, with laminated printout for further diagnosis / bragging - Access to 4 post ramps and workshop should anything be uncovered(!) - Your own copy of the 2.7K High Def Video of the run - Imortalisation in what will be our best RRD! Usual retail on their rolling road is currently £65 alone, the road will take 2500bhp and is brand new this year and is known to be particularly accurate (as recommended by Northampton Motorsport who are no longer doing rolling roads.). As a one off, I'd recommend it for any owner. Re. facilities, there is a 1950s diner across the road (part of a motorbike cafe) and the site has parking for 50-200 cars, so a group photo will be the order of the day. Priority will be for MK2/ASC/JBody only. It really is worthwhile and a fun day to boot as everyone gets a bit caught up in it all. It will also capitalise on there being the Performance Vauxhall show at Santa Pod the very next day for members who wish to take part (and those who want to watch!) With the usual hotel so close, it is really ideal in terms of it's placing - with 5-10mins between all the locations. (It will also allow us to circle the stretch of road for the most staggering convoy video ever produced!) Let's show the world we can still get 20+ MK2's/J-Cars to a place that isn't Billing! Prospective members are also welcome to come along, take part in the event and meet everyone! 3. Thread will be locked pending big update and formal thread. We will be holding the event at RGS Motorsport, and the BEST weekend would be the 1st/2nd of June. We could have the rollers on the Saturday, and on Sunday there is a RWYB at SantaPod for anyone that wanted to stay on. The rollers are less than 10 minutes from the strip, giving more value to peoples travel. The week before there is the national drag championships across the weekend, but no user cars are possible. The most sensible weekend would be the 1st June, close enough to keep the May people happy too. The process is a lot more comprehensive on these rollers, with 15-20mins per car rather than the sling it on approach of other places - as recommended by Northampton motorsport our previous supplier.

New Boy

Hello and welcome to the forum! Thank you for signing up to support us - something I hope we can do in return many times over. Looking forward to the starting of a project thread for your MK2!
5. There are events all through, just gotta find a good date. Problem with PV weekend is that everywhere around there is usually heaving. Also, think there was a nice bit of buildup for it being the whole reason we are there! So what dates do we know about already in June?
6. Problem is that in May many people don't have their cavs back on the road again for the summer - June catches the daily drivers as well as the show-ers. List is growing nicely though. Think if we get 15-20 names we'll get it booked up that will determine the date.. but lets gun for 30! Let's make it an epoch for MK2CAV.COM to rival Euro 09 and the best of Billing.
7. It's far from a thrashing Dawn, it's a health check and the operator will only take it to revs that the owner is happy with. Even under load it's a fraction of a second and the whole thing is over. I'd seriously recommend it as a great opportunity for all, if you watch back the older vids you will see that peoples targets were generally, standard power, just 20-30 years later!
8. kewl, lets start a list then to get the ball rolling before a formal thread. I'm thinking June sometime, Northampton Motorsport - Ibis Wellingborough.
9. I raised this at the xmas meet. If we are going to do it, we do it large. Beat the 28 cars in convoy in 2009 stone cold and go for the big 30! Must be possible! No gauging about it - we should do one! ;D Collectively! 8)
10. Added the video to the event gallery (yes, I am slowly updating / creating the missing years too), the facebook page, and now here:
Watch in HD!
11. Buzzing about this now!
12. Looks really clean! Interesting to hear more background on this one. I know it's widely accepted, but I think the grey unpainted griffins look more at home on the facelift cars these days than the red ones. Although it was a bit cheap of Vauxhall to do them in alloy alone back then! At least painting them yourself they didnt fade like the early grilles red paint did. It certainly stands out though, and would love to see one painted up in high shine Silver of some kind!
13. Two other members and an admin in contact this evening about coming along, so signs are good! ;D
14. Nice one! I'd imagine I'd be there for lunchtime, with a view to proper eat / drink in the PM? Let's get these numbers up ;D
15. Well I'm booked up. Record-breakingly early in proceedings too! ;D
16. Rooms are currently 36 quid for the weekend at present. Are people going to get booked up? Let's get these numbers up. ;D
17. Stopping over Sat night Matt O SRi & Zo Andy & Kat Teaser &.. Really looking forward to this. Have been thinking about a bunch of stuff to move the club forward, will be good time to chat and have a drink.. Going to move this into national events and will do a pm newsletter message to members about it in due course.

20. Welcome aboard! Looks like a great project. How does your numberplate system work? Is 72 "x" mean a year like ours did?
21. andy

I'm back!

You should join up and start a proper project thread! I'll be in Greece in July - where are you based? For the exhaust most custom systems on 2.0 were 2" 1/4 so around 57mm but if you want more power in the longrun you could go to 60 and have adequate. (But turbo cars use up to around 77mm!)
