Mine is a saloon, did you see the blue hatch when manweb was at greyhound park in Chester before they moved, if it was about 1988-1992 it belonged to a mate who worked for them and was a company car (it was more a mid blue if i remamber) he bought it than sold it on afterfew months as his wife found it to heavy for her with no power steering,
  5. Hello and welcome to the site, push the boat out and get another cav i have a red sri130 saloon live in wrexham.I can remember some of the cavs parked in car parks in and around wrexham years ago, there were some nice ones about though many ended up in breakers round here due to rust / accidents where i found them and had the foresight to remove parts for future need. There are still a few in the area mainly owned by people on this site. Do you ever remember a nice lx / lxi in metalic blue in the area? with round driving lamps mounted in the front spoiler?

    New boy!

Do what i do have a secret stash (say 200-500 quid) than tell household finance committe it only costs half of what it really does. (cannot do that at present as redundant/unemployed)

    At Last

Used to drive one exactly same colour and spec as company pool car,it went very well and for some reason it would sit on the bumper of the early eighties xr3 (not xr3i) all day at any speed once over 60mph as a few found out (not on public roads of course!!)and left the F*** S***** 1.6 for dead.Think thats what started me getting into Vauxhalls & mk2 cavs.
  14. Hi and welcome good choice hope you find one,had mine for about 15 years will never sell it hope to have another next year to keep it company, must be another saloon though.
  15. Hello and welcome i also spent some time in the merch as a R/Officer awful lot of seadogs/ex seadogs in the club must be something about mk2 cavs that attracts us. 16. Late i know but welcome are there many cavaliers out there ?
  17. Hi steve welcome to the club, hope you manage to find a good mk2 any preferences, sri / 130 / cdi or... I drive an sri130 saloon had it since about 1993 i went to look at an astra mk2 16v and saw the cav, two owners (same family ) and 41000 on the clock full history etc just had to have it someone else was looking at it/sitting in it so did rash thing went up to sales man stuck cash on his desk said i wanted it without trying it out did not haggle over price (was cheaper than astra anyway) signed for it just as other people came in to discuss purchase, never regreted it since Do you want one to restore or one that has been restored or still in good nik ? boy can they rot, my advice plaster it with waxoyl everywhere probably reason why mine is still original apart from rear wing replaced 12years ago after small knock. There are plenty of people in the club to advise you anyway if you need it. Anyway good luck with your search.

    hello all

hello my name is neil and i own a cavalier sri130 on an E plate, it is in perfect condition even though i use it every day it has had absolutly no welding other than a new rear wing in 1993 due to my wife denting it ( i would not have the wing repaired) there is NO rust anywhere at all under the car it is wax oiled several times a year all box sections everything gets a very good coating. it is my pride and joy. was stolen 15months ago but recoverd with only minor damage to passenger door which i had done and a new steering colum and a complete lock set. my daughter went to santa pod and enjoyed looking around your stand and then told me i should join as id like to show my car next year on your stand i do have plenty of pics to show you all its just working out how to put them on.
