a top end rebuild sounds like the best option mate. i take it its a 1600 8v. i did mine earlier this year, its a doddle to do and a garage should be able to do it in less than a day
ill be leaving from newcastle upon tyne around 11ish on friday morning if anyone fancys a northern convoy to billing. i am flexible on my times to get a convoy going!!!
imagine what my pearents will say if he gets a cav-cherry bomb. there already sick to death of me lol. i think he should get a 1.3 4 speed on throttle bodies with a straight thru cherry bomb. it would sound awsome and be so cool.
im deffo coming but i wont be allowing the hangers on to follow me this year. i will be attending ALONE. can someone please stick me on the list. cheers :-*
i was hoping to be there but A) i dont really have the funds to spend freely on a weekend away at the min and the cav isnt up to scratch to make an apperance lol. i need to work this weekend aswell so i will just see you guys at billing methinks.
nice motor mate. i love retro cavs. if i were you id rebuild the 1.3 over a weekend, possibly get a spare 1.3 head and rebuild and prepare it ready for the job. you might be supprised once you have given the top end an overhaul that the little 1.3 has a new lease of life. it gives you time to source a new bigger motor if you decide to do a conversion on it. i have stuck with the 1.6 in my SR and i have grown to love it. now i wont swap it for the world. i carried out a full rebuild with a few goodies thrown in and now the cav is just excellent to drive. feel free to pm me if you need any advice with your car
welcome mate, i was like you from a young age working on cars with my dad. when i was 11 we built a spartan kit car. it started me off for a life with nice cars
welcome mate. try to go for a cav that doesnt look too bad. once you get a car that looks in fair condition theres no doubt that there will be a list as long as your arm before youll be happy with it good luck
