Ascona C 1.8S

Hello everybody from Romania, I am Dan and this is my 1988 Opel Ascona C. The engine is a 1.8S E18NV, completely rebuilt in 2011 with polished ports and valve seats and few other minor mods. The gearbox is a standard F16CR with bigger clutch plate and disk. The car was lowerd with Eibach springs, completed with a classic set of 15"Zender Sport rims fitted with 195/50/15 Dunlop SP Sport Fastresponse. The car is rust free after rebuilding the quarter and back pannels this summer.  It is a project far from done, hope you like it. Thanks!

The difference is only really a few small bits of plastic isnt it?

Yup, possibly 6 bits of plastic, 4 badges, a couple of decals, a speedo and maybe some different upholstery. Its already the same colour as Champers. Oh and mustn't forget different manuals

Thank you all for your appreciation! There are very few Asconas left in my country, even fewer in good condition. Because of that, there are very cheap, under 400£ . If you find a good one, chances are it is not for sale.

Part supply is rubbish, no car company import taillights for example. The second hand parts market is also dead.

Hello friends,

Sorry for disappearing from forum, this is an important year for me, I am about to obtain my masters degree in just two weeks from now.Btw, this year I also visited UK for the first time, loved it. 

Nevertheless, I haven't forgot my Ascona, and I wanted to share my latest plan with you. The idea is to swap the powertrain and the brake system from a mk4 Astra gsi turbo. ;D  Can you please help me with some info's about what difficulties may encounter?
