number of possble reasons behind this

1) SRI130's were about the most stolen car in the UK in it's day, as a result a lot of them were written off.

2) Cabbys were normally used as 'second/weekend/fair weather' cars, again most of the ones i have seen have been garaged and most of them don't get a lot of use during the winter.

3) Cabbys seems to less vunerable to modding as well, it seems that modding boys prefer the tin top cars, also the Cabby was never really considered competition against the Golf GTi or Escort cabriolet.

3) Cabbys seems to less vunerable to modding as well, it seems that modding boys prefer the tin top cars, also the Cabby was never really considered competition against the Golf GTi or Escort cabriolet.

And 4) people knew they were rare so were prepared to fix or bodge them rather than admit defeat and scrap them.
