All Saloons and no hatches

Been to Tenerife for two weeks. Spotted 8 mk2 Cavs (Ascona's) all absolutely immaculate apart from a couple with door dents.

All of them were saloons GT's, GL's and one modified beauty. Yes coming from Mr Standard it's hard to believe Im saying it.

Why no Hatchbacks does anyone have any idea. Wish I could bring a left hooker back and convert to right hand drive.

In the 1980's DIY took off and so did hatchbacks, what better way to pick up your supplies than in a hatchback or estate. There practicality made them more popular.

My preference is still the saloon though, but I have 2 saloons a hatchback and an estate so got the best of all worlds.

Over here normally smaller cars like astras are 90% hatch while bigger ones like vectras 90% are saloon.

In the showroom buying an astra saloon is more expensive than a hatch

While buying a vectra hatch is more expensive than a saloon.

This goes for all makes with their relitive size cars, i dunno why ???

What would Gordon do?
