Hi Can anyone advise if there is a way of adjusting the drivers seat so it can move further back than the original fittings as legroom for pedals is a little tight. Also, if the brake pedal can sit lower as sitting very high, my first Sri back in the day didn't sit as high as this one?? Any advice/ideas welcomed

Hi Just joined a few weeks back. Already posted a couple comments in other threads but wanted to say a general hi. Im a bit of a performance vauxhall nut. Got a vxr8 a vectra b gsi and last month managed to get a lovely example 88 sri hatch (2 litre not 130). Really chuffed as they are so rare now. Also it was my late father's favourite ever car. He used to have an 86 sri which we all adored. So feels great to complete a circle. Ive only got 44k on the clock on this one and its in generally excellent condition. Will of course be making some respectful changes to yet improve it though so be keen to get all your advice! Pic below. Steve

Hi guys I've recently purchased a 1982 Cavalier 1.6 GL which I'll be picking up in a week. It's a 1 owner and has 22k on the clock. Needs some slight paintwork tidy up but it's not been welded and the arches and sills look mint. Always wanted one since my dad had a 1986 Cavalier SRi hatch in black. Still even remember the registration C704 HOP. Although it no longer exists as after he sold it in 1994, it was stolen and burnt out. This is my current daily driver and the Cavalier will be a keep tidy project. Don't worry. I won't be subjecting the Cavalier to this much abuse Looking forward to joining retro ownership.

Hello folks, it's such a pleasure to get in touch with all of the J-car's lovers worldwide! This is my baby. Some of you might have already seen it, a 1988 Chevrolet Monza which I've been keeping for 6 years. At the beginning, it was an absolutely stripped car. Along this years, I've made some enhancements such as Air conditioning, power steering, locks and windows, digital dashboard, Ascona's rear lights set ( Andy has helped me a lot). All home made . It's carburated and, despite being an old system, it's fairly simple to fix compared to the Efi and Mpfi. You might not believe it, but this two systems came along in the early 90's! Many years later than the r…

Greetings everyone, I'm a new member and have a 'new' car! A couple of weeks ago I decided the garage I work at should have a proper 'modern classic' and as I served my time with Vauxhall from 1986-1993 the obvious choice was a Mk2. Bought one off ebay in Worcester and drove it home 175 miles after being unused and unloved for 2 years. I felt instantly at home again when I slid behind the wheel! It's an '87 1.6L saloon in Monaco Blue which was supplied new by Midlothian at Holmfirth. looking forward to the experience! :)

Not my first post on here, but I thought Id leave the intro until I owned a mk2! I have been dicking around with Cavalier's for around 20 years! My very first one was a D reg hatch, which I quickly wrote off, then a E reg saloon. 22 mk3's followed, lately all turbo 4x4's. I been holding out for a while now to buy a another turbo, but I've got sick of waiting for people to make there minds up about selling them , so I've gone and bought this! Sorry they have loaded as thumb nails! Had a lovely drive back of around 90 miles. Developed a misfire under load within the first few minutes, likely the CTS. Also found some recent attempts…

Hello everybody! Since 2009, when i bought a cheap Chevrolet Monza S/R in a junkyard here in Brazil, for each km driven, my affection for it only increases. The car is quite comfortable, with excellent stability, but I still miss some power from the original 106cv ethanol engine. Looking for performance recipes on the web, I ended up finding Andy's Ascii's video on Youtube, wich interested me a lot and ended up bringing me to your forum. My project with this car is to build something good for track-days but still reasonable to drive on the street. Beyond that, I would still like to escape from the basic recipe with C20XE, wich is very popular in Brazil, and make somet…

Thought it'd be rude not to say hello. Recently got myself a Cabrio. Childhood dream come true. I remember servicing my trusty MK2 saloon 24 years ago (first car) and the pic of the cabby in my Haynes manual (which I still had) used to amaze me. Every time I saw it I'd say to my Dad 'one day I'll own one of those'......well it may be nearly a quarter of a century later but hell yeah, I got one!!!!! Good nick too, 73K miles, 40K of those towed on the back of a motorhome around Europe and then used to go local sightseeing/shopping apparently by last owner who had it for 15 yrs. Look forward to using this site!!! Already posted in the 'wanted' for a drivers pull handle an…

http://imageshack.com/a/img673/3007/gaEoNt.jpg I decided to lower the cav the other week but I wasn't happy with the way it sat lower at the front. I used some Lo 40mm springs along with some Avo front shocks and Bilstein rears. I thought maybe 30 mm at the front and 40mm at the rear might sit better. Anyone had similar issues?
